The Loma Rica Browns Valley Fire Department, established in 1984 by local residents, serves the nearly 100 square mile area of the Loma Rica and Browns Valley communities. As an independent government agency, it is funded through direct assessments imposed on residents and businesses, as the County of Yuba does not provide fire service.
Dedicated to enhancing community safety, the department continuously seeks qualified volunteer firefighters and board members to support its mission. With ongoing improvements, including the construction of additional fire stations, the department aims to improve response times and potentially lower insurance rates for its citizens.
