Lions Peak Vineyards

History

Lions Peak Vineyards was established in the early 1970; however, the winery and tasting room began in 1998. The business began with the sales of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and then branched off to producing our own label, Lions Peak. The first wine produced was the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon and since that time Lions Peak has produced Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot,Malbec, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre, Zinfandel, Viognier, Rousanne, Marsanne, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and a Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel Port, and a Late Harvest Viognier, and several Meritages. The tasting room was established in 1998 and focuses on Lions Peak's current releases and Library Wines dating back to 1994. The boutique tasting room and hospitality center in Solvang also features artisan wine glasses, wine related gifts, and tapenades.

Specialties

Lions Peak's,45 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard,is one of the oldest boutique vineyards located in the Paso Robles AVA in the Historic San Miguel Region. Since 2004 the Peak's tasting room and hospitality center has been located in the quaint Danish village of Solvang and provides a diverse tasting menu of four wine flights which range from an award winning flight of 6 reds that have won gold and silver medals, a white wine flight, a sweet wine and port chocolate pairing, and a white and red wine flight. Lions Peak specializes in small lots of hand-crafted Bordeaux and Rhone wines with a selection of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel Ports.Varietals that available at the tasting room are:Lions Peak's 100% Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Proprietor's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Lionnesse, Cabernet Sauvignon Rose, Merlot,Cabernet Franc,Malbec, Mourvedre,Petite Sirah,Zinfandel, and an assorted collection of white wines and ports. The tasting room also features a collection artisan wine glasses for Italy and Romania and wine related gift items.
