Libby Laboratories has long been a recognized custom manufacturer of cosmetics, topical OTC pharmaceuticals, drugs and devices and chemical specialties. Custom formulations of bath and body products, skincare products, hair products, cosmetics, OTC pharmaceuticals for nearly 50 years, Libby Labs is a premiere contract manufacturer. Libby Laboratories was founded in 1959 by Dr. Henry Libby. The company began in a small manufacturing site in Berkeley, Calif. For the first couple of years, it produced chemical specialties and sanitary chemicals. Over the past 40 years, Libby Labs has pioneered many of the current cosmetic trends. It has worked with many different companies to do innovative product development work such as peptides in skin & hair products, musk perfume, the first non-PABA sunscreens, milk amino acids, meadowfoam oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, ultrasonic cleaners and lactic acid moisturizers.
