Leo J. Ryan Memorial Park, located in Foster City, Calif., encompasses 20 acres overlooking Central Lake, the largest water expanse in the lagoon system. The park is also home to the William E. Walker Recreation Center. The park s amenities include an outdoor amphitheatre, sailboat tie-up facilities, an 18-station par course, boardwalk, lawn areas, basketball courts, a bike path, restrooms and a gazebo on the lake. The park is named after Leo J. Ryan, a United States Congressman who was killed in 1978 by followers of Jim Jones' People's Temple cult, in an ambush at the dirt airstrip of Port Kaituma, Guyana.
