Leland Stanford Middle School

Stanford Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. The school helps to develop academic, social and technological skills in students. Its core curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Stanford Middle School s library houses a collection of more than 15,000 textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, magazines, and fiction and nonfiction books. The school has a parent-teacher association that organizes counseling sessions and fundraising events. It offers various sports activities, including football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track and field. Stanford Middle School provides a gifted and talented education program for students with special needs. The school also offers classes in instrumental music and performing and visual arts. It is a part of the Long Beach Unified School District, which also operates various elementary, middle and high schools.
