Legal Assistance for Seniors provides free legal representation and advice in the areas of elder abuse, guardianship, health law, housing, naturalization, and public benefits. We represent conservatees and potential conservatees when appointed by the court. LAS operates the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) in Alameda County, which offers individual counseling and assistance with Medicare and related health insurance plans and programs. LAS provides community education to groups throughout Alameda County on the topics listed below. All presentations include an overview of LAS and HICAP services. We continually develop and update our education programs as changes to our legal and Medicare systems evolve. We also host an Annual Conference on Elder Abuse each year in the Spring.
