History
Laura's Story After minoring in math at UCI I enrolled in UCI's teacher credentialing program. But while I loved math and I loved teaching students math, I did not love the 40 to 1 student to teacher ratio. My mentor teacher suggested I tutor, and I've been doing just that full-time ever since. I enjoy it so much, I convinced my husband to do it too! Chieh's Story I've been a full-time lecturer in the English Department at UC Irvine, since 2005. In addition, I was a senior instructor at Elite Educational Institute, having taught there for 13 years before leaving to join Laura in our own tutoring program. At Elite, I taught reading and writing in both its SAT and ACT test prep programs and worked with students on college application essays. I received my BA in American Literature from UCLA and my MFA in English from UCI. My master's thesis was published as a novel by Bloomsbury USA and received positive reviews from the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times.
