Lam Keiking

History

This business was founded by Dr. KeiKing Lam, a political refugee from China who against all odds, managed to finish adult high school, working several jobs ranging from dishwasher to bartender to construction worker in order to pay for his tuition for higher education at Dartmouth College. After graduating top of his class at University of Pennsylvania Dental School, he went on to complete two residencies for Orthodontics and Oral Surgery. After working as an employee for several years, he opened his own clinic here on Irving St. between 19th and 20th - a true American Dream story! We have been thriving since 2001 and will continue to do so.

Specialties

A major difference that separates our practice from others is that most other doctors lack the experience and/or confidence to be able to work on a patient that is conscious, for a moving patient is undoubtedly more challenging to perform on when the surgical sites are millimeters wide. Many fellow Oral Surgeons immediately resort to general anesthesia to accommodate this challenge which renders the patient unconscious, possibly causing brain damage. The fact that Dr. KeiKing Lam only uses local anesthesia, using the smallest needles available in the industry to minimize pain, is testament to his proficiency as a surgeon. Dr. Lam has spent four years studying dentistry at the top Dental School University of Pennsylvania after finishing his Undergrad at Dartmouth College. He went on to finish his residency programs to specialize in Orthodontist and Oral Surgery as well as Pediatric Dentistry and has been practicing here in the Sunset for over 15 years.
