History
In 1937, Lakeside Deli opened on Lakeshore Avenue. The business had been an institution within the Lakeshore community, serving the area for over 65 years. The space was remodeled in 1985 by the famed Creative Spaces design team. With its post-modernist take on a Grecian theme, intricate Terrazzo flooring and its light and open feel, 3257 Lakeshore Avenue is definitely a standout. Fast-forward to June 2002 when David Saidian, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy, and Mohammed Haghighi wanted to bring to this neighborhood a cafe that embraced the fusion of California Cuisine. Serving breakfast staples like Belgian waffles, egg scrambles, and omelets, they incorporate only the freshest fruits and produce the area has to offer. For lunch, they created a menu that would appeal to many tastes by offering sandwiches, salads, and juicy burgers. With daily specials that always delight- and $2.95 Champagne Mimosas on the weekend- it's easy to see why people keep coming back.
Specialties
We pride ourselves on fast friendly service. We have an expansive breakfast and lunch menu available all day, including Mimosas for $6.75. Sorry, we do not offer bottomless mimosas.
