Dr. Aditi A. Sharma is a board-certified UCI Health general dermatologist who specializes in skin disorders, including skin cancers. Her clinical interests include Mohs surgery and dermatologic oncology.She earned her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Va. She completed a residency in dermatology at the UCI School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in dermatologic oncology and Mohs surgery at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine.Before starting medical school, Sharma worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she studied viral immunity. She also worked at the World Health Organization (WHO) on issues involving improved access to care and the quality and safe use medical devices. In addition, she worked at the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy in New Delhi, India, where she was involved in the Disease Control Priorities Project and the analysis of antimicrobial resistance.

Christopher B. Zachary, MD

Dr. Christopher B. Zachary is a UCI Health dermatologist who specializes in skin cancer and reconstruction, as well as cosmetic and laser surgery. His clinical interests include dermatologic laser surgery, skin cancer, mohs surgery, melanoma and aesthetic treatments, including skin rejuvenation, botulinum toxin and the full range of injectable fillers. He completed medical school at the Royal Free Hospital, University of London, in the United Kingdom, where he received training in internal medicine and dermatology. At the Institute of Dermatology, Guys and St. Thomas' Hospitals in London, he became interested in dermatological surgery. He subsequently completed training in dermatological surgical at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Zachary returned to London to set up the first Mohs and laser skin surgery practice. In 1988, he became director of the University of Minnesota's Cutaneous Surgery and Laser Center. In 1997, he became a professor and co-director of the Dermatologic Surgery and Laser Center at the UC San Francisco Medical Center. In 2005, he accepted the position as professor at the UCI School of Medicine and went on to serve 15 years as chair of its Department of Dermatology. He is a frequent speaker at national and international symposia and is often contact by national media (e.g., the New York Times, CNN, the Today Show) for commentary about dermatologic issues and treatments. He is a past president of the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons. An educational innovator, he has written and edited numerous papers and books.
