La Maestra Community Health Centers

Established in 1991, La Maestra Community Health Centers is a nonprofit organization that serves the low-income and immigrant communities of Southern California. The organization provides primary, medical and dental care services. It also offers job training, housing assistance, prenatal and pediatric services. La Maestra Community Health Centers serves more than 39,000 individuals annually. The organization has partnerships with several agencies in the fields of health, education, employment, housing and advocacy. It provides internships for nurse practitioners, social workers, medical technicians, and physician and dental assistants. The organization offers treatment programs for diabetes, asthma, obesity and hypertension. It provides depression treatment, cholesterol management, and breast and skin cancer screening services. In addition, the organization is a member of the Council of Community Clinics. La Maestra Community Health Centers maintains a presence in San Diego.
