Chet Holifield Library, located in Montebello, CA, is a 5,500 sq ft library that primarily serves the residents of south Montebello. Established in February 1969 in honor of Congressman Chet Holifield, the library offers a range of services and collections, including online research, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, music, and newspapers. With a variety of programs and resources for children, teens, and adults, Chet Holifield Library is a valuable community resource.
Managed by Fiona Reimers, the library provides in-person and telephone research assistance, photocopying services, and access to MetroTAP Cards. It also offers early learning and engagement services for children, online homework help for teens, and a Friends of the Library volunteer-run organization that supports library events and book sales. After a year-long refurbishment project, the library reopened in January 2011, providing an updated and welcoming space for residents to explore, learn, and connect.
