L A County Affirmative Action

Established in 1976, the Office of Affirmative Action Compliance in Los Angeles provides business certifications and operates various programs. Its employment discrimination compliance section monitors internal and external employment discrimination complaints filed by the employees of county departments. The office maintains centralized control over the administration of the county s compliance programs. It submits reports and information to federal and state agencies. It also offers training on equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment prevention, employment discrimination prevention and other civil rights-related subjects. Additionally, the office operates a disability civil rights compliance program that promotes disability awareness and secures equal inclusion of disabled people in all activities, employment, contracting, programs and services.
