The Korean War Memorial Foundation (KWMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the sacrifices made by those who fought in the Korean War and educating future generations about the true cost of war and the price of freedom. Located in San Francisco, the Memorial stands in a prominent place in the Presidio, offering a breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific. The Memorial features a main wall with laser-etched panels depicting iconic images from the war, a circular bench enclosing a planter with Korean pine trees and battle stones, and commemorative panels recognizing individual donors and Korean War veterans.
Since its opening in 2016, the KWMF has focused on a continuing education program in collaboration with the San Francisco Unified School District and other agencies to ensure that the Korean War and the sacrifices made to defend democracy and protect South Korea's freedom are never forgotten by future generations.
