Kiwanis Fruit Stand

History

The Kiwanis International, Borrego Springs, CA chapter was formed to bring the public spirit that Kiwanis is known for to our little desert community. We have provided funds to Borrego Youth Golf, Outside-the-Box Art for children, Boy & Girls Club, PGA Sports Academy and 2015 Children's Film Festival. The proceeds from our 2 very successful fundraisers; the fruit stand and the street fair swap meet, help support vital youth programs that would not exist without the support of community partners like the Kiwanis. 95% of the children in our community are Hispanic and come from working families. The Borrego Springs Kiwanis Fruit Stand ( the little blue hut) offers visitors an opportunity to buy fresh Seley Red Grapefruit, known throughout the world for their sweet flavor, thin skin, and low acidity.
