King-American Ambulance Company

King-American Ambulance Co. is a private, 4th generation family owned and operated authorized provider of emergency and non-emergency medical services in San Francisco since 1906 delivering emergency and non-emergency medical response, pre-hospital care and transport. As a contracted provider for the San Francisco Department of Public Health King-American is a member of the Community Health Network. We respond to private emergency and non-emergency calls from health care and medical professionals, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and residential care facilities as well as the general public. King-American also serves the City and County's 9-1-1 system responding to 9-1-1 dispatched calls working closely with the San Francisco Fire and Police Departments and the Department of Emergency Management fulfilling a vital role in the City's emergency preparedness. King-American offers complete Claims Management Services at no charge to our patients. We accept and process medical claims on behalf of our patients with Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medicare and Medi-Cal capitated plans, private and commercial insurance (HMO and PPO), workers compensation insurance, military and Veterans' Administration benefits, and community health programs including Healthy San Francisco, the San Francisco Health Plan and the Chinese Community Health Plan. Our claims staff works with health plans, insurance, doctors' offices, hospitals, case managers, patients and their families assisting in the coordination of patient health care benefits.
