A Southern California native, Dr. Schachter has always appreciated the support of his local community and now he can give back to his community in his role as a family physician. He found his calling to pursue this career while studying biochemistry during his undergraduate years, he realized it was the ideal career for him and provided the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to those around him. Dr. Schachter enjoys the variety of patients and conditions he treats as a family medicine physician. He sees patients from young children through seniors and finds it exciting to help his patient reach their health goals. As he states it best, “I learn something new every day and my job allows me to be there for my patients every step of the way. Whether it is celebrating a patient controlling their blood pressure or a patient achieving a major goal, I am there to support them.” He believes that everyone has the right to high quality heath care and he treats all of his patients with respect and patience. He believes this is critical for a successful doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Schachter received his medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at PIH Health in Whittier, California. In addition to his family medicine education, he also has additional training in sports medicine and palliative care. During his time outside of the office, Dr. Schachter enjoys being outdoors whether is it camping, hiking, snowboarding, surfing or playing basketball.
