In 1974, Kern River Tours became the first commercial rafting company on the Kern River. Kern River Tours has three meeting locations. Its main office is located in Lake Isabella, Calif., serves as its reservations, accounting and Lower Kern guest meeting center. On the Upper Kern, the company has constructed a meeting place for its guests known as the River Place. It is a leased property located next to the river in Frandy Park, where camping and fishing are available. The Upper Kern River trips include the Lickety Split, the Sampler, a 1-day tours as well as the Thunder run and Forks of the Kern tours.
