Dr Basina is a clinical endocrinologist and clinical researcher with a focus on diabetes management, thyroid, and adrenal conditions. Her primary interests are in Type 1 Diabetes, Diabetes technology, and Diabetes in pregnancy. Dr Basina is Board certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine.She received numerous teaching awards and Stanford Hospital award for excellence in patient care.She is an active member of medical advisory boards for several community diabetes organizations. Dr Basina is a medical director of inpatient diabetes program at Stanford and a chair of diabetes task force.

As a practicing gastroenterologist and researcher specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a disease without medical cure and whose pathogenesis is incompletely understood, I am keenly aware of the resultant limitations and risks of existing IBD therapies. It is precisely this need—the need to offer patients improved treatment options by better understanding the underlying causes of IBD and its impact on patients—that motivates me and is a focus of my research.

Dr. Shah is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with Stanford Health Care’s Digestive Health program. He is a clinical associate professor of medicine in the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Stanford University School of Medicine.Dr. Shah treats all gastrointestinal and liver conditions, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), colon polyps, hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. He has a special interest in the increasingly prevalent fatty liver disease, which allows him to work closely with patients to educate them about symptom management and making lifestyle changes that will improve their health and wellbeing.
