Katherine Esau Science Hall
The Sciences Laboratory Building, commonly referred to as SCILAB, is a state-of-the-art educational facility located on the University of California, Davis campus. Opened in 2004, it serves various biological science departments and houses advanced chemistry laboratories, alongside student discussion rooms and a computer laboratory.
This modern complex also features the large 511-seat 123 Sciences Lecture Hall and includes unique elements such as a jellyfish aquarium and a greenhouse. The building was constructed following the dismantling of the Haring Barn, and funding was primarily secured through a state bond and additional fundraising initiatives for educational enhancements.
