The Ventura County Juvenile Facilities in Oxnard, CA is a state-of-the-art detention and commitment facility situated on a 45-acre parcel near the community of El Rio. Completed in 2003 at a cost of $65 million, the facility has a total capacity of 420 male and female youth and includes housing components, outdoor recreation areas, a gymnasium, technology training center, medical offices, classrooms, and program administration offices.

Under the care of the Ventura County Probation Agency, youth at the Juvenile Facilities are provided with constructive individual and group activities, educational programming through Providence School, psychiatric and crisis intervention services by the Behavioral Health Department, and medical services by the California Forensic Medical Group. The facility also offers cognitive behavior therapy programming, gang intervention programs, gender-specific programs, and various other programs such as tolerance, parenting classes, tutoring, and music and dance programs.
