Founded in 1972, Joseph Phelps Vineyards is an independent, estate-based winery. It produces a wide variety of wines, such as cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, pinot noir, eisrebe, insignia, syrah and viognier. The winery s insignia wine is available in blackberry, cherry, anise, chocolate and coffee flavors. It provides recipes of pork loins, marinated scallop salads and velvety mushroom soups with the shipment of chardonnay wines to member of its preferred club. Located in Saint Helena, Calif., the winery operates several vineyards that occupy an area of more than 100 acres. Joseph Phelps Vineyards also operates a club that offers a range of benefits to its members. Additionally, the winery maintains a Web site that features wine-making process and recipes.
