Joplin & Sweeney Music, established in 1979 in Los Gatos, California, began as a teaching studio founded by guitar instructors Neil Hogan and Greg Burger. Initially located in a former Greyhound bus station garage known as the Bus Barn, the business later moved to Village Lane, where Hogan had taken guitar lessons as a child.

Today, Neil Hogan continues to teach guitar locally while also managing Totally Guitars, an online teaching platform. The studio now offers an extensive catalog of recordings available as MP3 downloads, along with various guitar arrangements in both tablature and standard notation.
