John is a Principal and Managing Director at Robertson Stephens’ San Ramon and Burlingame offices in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to joining Robertson Stephens, John was CEO of LFS Wealth Advisors, a SEC registered investment advisor headquartered in San Ramon, CA. John’s team also served his Bay Area clients from an additional office location in Burlingame, CA. John is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional. He received his B.Sc., (Accounting) from California State University, Fresno, and Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. John is a public speaker on financial topics and has authored numerous financial books and booklets, including Winning the Retirement Race Between Time and Money; What Should I Do Before Anything Happens to Me; Suddenly Single; IRA Survival Guide After the SECURE Act, and more. John is a firm believer in financial literacy. He was a co-chair of the California Society of CPA’s Financial Literacy Committee. He also founded Financial Aptitude Training (FiAT™), a Sec. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization teaching financial literacy to adults and teens in underserved communities. John enjoys reading, playing with his pets, and music. He lives with his wife in Danville, CA.
