Johanna Borenstein is a Professional Flutist, Teaching Artist, Orchestral Musician and Performer. She has over a decade of teaching experience. She holds three musical degrees from The Hartt School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and The Colburn School. Former students study flute performance at Northwestern, USC, UNT, Interlochen Arts Academy and UCLA. Current students attend LACHSA and Hamilton High School and the Colburn School. Johanna is the Mentor teaching artist for the Jumpstart program at The Colburn School of Music and Chamber Music Coach for Junior Chamber Music Los Angeles. Johanna is Principal Flutist of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra and has an active orchestral career freelancing in LA Opera, San Diego Symphony, San Diego Opera and has also travelled overseas to perform in the Music Academy International Opera orchestra among many others. She is a gold medal winner in the San Diego Flute Guild Young Artist Competition and semi finalist in the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition. Johanna is currently accepting new students, beginners, intermediate and advanced all can apply for her studio. She holds two recitals a year and recommends active participation in extra curricular musical activities.
