Established in 1878, Jefferson School is a junior high educational institution that serves students in grades five through eight. The school s academic curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, language arts and physical education. It conducts a variety of sports events that includes volleyball and basketball. Jefferson School also organizes various cocurricular events, such as band performances, dramatic plays, musical shows, field trips, concerts and academic competitions. In addition, the school participates in several fundraising and promotional programs, including Box Tops for Education and General Mills. It has a student council that sponsors activities for the school s development.
