History
In the mid 1980s I managed Oriental rug and tribal art stores in San Diego, while finishing my degree at UCSD. Major: bachelors in art history and a minor in Anthropology. I spent several years in Los Angeles County and earned my GCA from the College of Appraisers. Dr. David Long, hired me to teach appraising art for the generalist appraiser, and appraising Asian art. My professional colleagues, in Appraisers National Association, nominated me as their President. I served for 2 years. I also passed the core courses for the International Society of Appraisers, and remained an accredited appraiser with this organization for 15 years. During this entire period, I either conducted estate sales, taught classes for appraisers, or performed personal property appraisals.
