Dr. Baerveldt is internationally recognized for his glaucoma research, surgical innovations and humanitarian endeavors. He developed the Baerveldt Glaucoma Implant and presently holds six patents related to this invention. Dr. Baerveldt also invented Trabectome, a minimally-invasive glaucoma surgical instrument that is used worldwide.
