Jack's Beach Concession

History

Jack's Beach Concession was built by my grandfather, Jack Clapp, in 1958. It was only natural, since his father, Dwight, had built the first beach concession in Huntington Beach in 1932, called Dwight's. When my great grandfather Dwight retired, Jack took over Dwight's, and my father, Dave, stepped up to run Jack's. The living legand, Jack Clapp, can still be found running Dwight's with my Aunt Laurie just south of the pier. 30 years later, its getting to the time for another generation to step up, and we hope to keep our family legacy of serving our community at the highest level for many more years to come!

Specialties

Jack's has the largest selection of bikes and beach rental equipment on the beach. We rent bikes, surreys, tandams, surfboards, body boards, wetsuites, skateboards, paddle boards, umbrellas, and even offer complimentery sand chairs for our guests. Or tackle the mighty Pacific Ocean with one of our Private Surf Lessons. We have several Surf Instructors on staff for all ages and levels! Lessons includes all the equipment you will need. And all of our Instructors are CPR certified. Our Food Menu is also the largest on the beach. We have everything from hotdogs, hamburgers, french fries, and chicken strips, to tuna sandwhiches, salads and smoothies. And of course, we have our World Famous Cheese Strips, with our Secret Strip Sauce, developed by my great grandfather Dwight! Pick up a soft served ice cream, shaved ice, or frozen banana to top it off.
