Intuitive Writing Project

The Intuitive Writing Project, based in Oakland, CA, provides a supportive environment for girls and gender-expansive youth to express their truths and develop their writing skills. Through its unique approach, which integrates the Amherst Writing Method, the program fosters self-awareness, confidence, and resilience, empowering participants to articulate their stories effectively.

Since its inception in 2013, The Intuitive Writing Project has offered over 500 students more than 4,000 hours of classes and workshops, resulting in the publication of over 1,000 student-written pieces. The organization emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence and community, equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed academically and personally, while nurturing their intrinsic self-worth.
