The Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL), founded in 1974 by Dr. Nancy J. Lavelle, is dedicated to empowering individuals of all abilities to take charge of their learning and lives. With over 50 years of service, IRL provides a continuum of care through six specialized programs, catering to individuals from infants to adults, many of whom have special needs.

IRL operates Almansor Academy, Westmoreland Academy, and various clinical and community outreach services aimed at fostering personal responsibility and competence in learners.
