History

Inland Valley Auto has been in business for over 13 years. The owner Jay McCormac starting the business from his parents home while attending California State University San Bernardino and working for Lucky's supermarkets as a cashier. He started off buying, repairing, and selling lower end vehicles in his spare time and reinvested the majority of his profits back into additional inventory. In November 1996, Jay was contacted by the DMV in regards to the number of sales he had made during the year. He was unaware of the limit of vehicles an individual could personally sell and the Auto Trader had reported him for selling 15 vehicles in 1996 alone. The limit was 6. The DMV uncharacteristically was very helpful and instructed Jay on how he could become an auto dealer. He continued to grow the business, increasing his inventory and in 1999 left his full time job as a cashier to run Inland Valley Auto.
