Family Bridges is a nonprofit, multiservice organization that provides assistance to low- and moderate-income individuals, Asian immigrants, senior citizens and individuals with limited English language skills. Founded in 1968, it offers the Friendly Visitors program, which includes companionship to homebound and socially isolated Cantonese and Mandarin speaking senior citizens. The organization provides a social services program that features language assistance, naturalization, and information and referral services. Family Bridges also provides referrals to affordable homecare assistance for low-income individuals. It maintains the Hong Lok Senior Center, which is a drop-in center that offers a range of support services for senior citizens. Family Bridges maintains a presence in Oakland, Calif.

Asian Community Mental Health Services, located in Oakland, Calif., offers a wide range of psychiatric care and medical treatments for people suffering from developmental disabilities. The center provides various services, such as case management, parent support, consultation and community integration services. It provides case management services that include residential day and employment programs, special education services and rehabilitation options. The organization also organizes consultation programs through which it educates and trains other community agencies on outreach, referrals and family support programs. It additionally offers community integration programs that include community awareness, socialization and independent living skills education. The center provides training in basic life skills, including counting money and cooking.
