Homestead Apothecary

Homestead Apothecary, originally founded by Nicholas Weinstein on a family farm in Western Massachusetts, became a thriving business upon its relocation to Oakland, California, in 2013. With a successful retail storefront in Temescal Alley and a second location in the Laurel District, the apothecary focused on providing herbal remedies and education to the community.

After seven years of dedicated service, Nic and his partner Ashley Neese transitioned their lives to Mariposa, California, to establish a personal retreat center and small-scale herbal medicine farm. As their family grew through fostering and adoption, they ultimately decided to close Homestead Apothecary at the end of 2024 to prioritize family time and philanthropic efforts.
