Hollingworth Elementary School

Hollingworth Elementary School, located in West Covina, Calif., is part of Rowland Unified School District. It enrolls more than 800 students and offers classes in grades kindergarten through six. The school is recognized by the California State Department of Education as a California Distinguished School. It provides a comprehensive educational program, including core subjects, such as mathematics, language arts, social studies and science. Students are also involved in reading and studying great works of children's literature, complex writing, and listening-speaking activities. The school has a parent volunteer for each of its more than 40 classrooms, who assists students in a variety of activities, such as small reading groups, chaperoning field trips and helping teachers prepare instructional materials. It focuses on performing arts, including its band, choral music, art and drama.
