High Tech High was launched by a coalition of San Diego s business leaders and educators in 2000 as a single-charter high school. It has evolved into a school development organization with a portfolio of seven charter schools that serve more than 2,500 students in kindergarten through grade 12. The schools curricula include several subjects, such as humanities, math, science, graphic design, engineering, multimedia production, biology, computer science and Spanish. High Tech High also offers special education programs for students with special needs. It conducts science fairs and professional development programs. In addition, it offers internship opportunities for students. High Tech High is located in San Diego.
