The Hemet Police Department is a law enforcement agency that employs more than 190 members, including sworn officers, civilians and volunteers. The department maintains patrol, detective and traffic bureaus. It also has a gang task force and crime suspension unit, which works towards high-risk offenders, narcotics, prostitution and criminal activities. The Hemet Police Department s special operations unit has a team of highly-trained officers who are prepared and equipped to resolve critical incidents. The department operates the Hemet Police Activities League, which is a nonprofit organization that provides a safe place for kids after the school and in the summers. It also has a communication center that serves as the point of contact for citizens in need of emergency services. The Hemet Police Department is located in Hemet, Calif.
