With a backdrop of significant events—including World War II and the local agricultural heritage—the center invites visitors to explore Windsor's past through its museum, archives, and various cultural events.

In addition to its historical exhibits, the center offers a self-guided downtown walking tour and hosts events such as the annual meeting and discussions about the German POW camp that once operated in the area. The Hembree House Cultural Center is dedicated to preserving Windsor's history and encourages community involvement through donations and participation in its activities.

This tiny cultural center has such a charming museum with great carvings. It isn't even called a museum but does better than the big names in Sonoma county.
