History

Dorothea W. Hartley & Associates was founded in 1983. Dorothea Hartley started the business with a coffee cake and a smile. Walking door to door and getting our name out there really helped put us on the map of court reporting. The business was initially started in the basement of a condominium and has blossomed through the years to a beautiful office in downtown Ventura. We then received the honor of getting the bid on the largest case in Ventura County's history, which consisted of hundreds of depositions taken regarding toxic waste and health concerns for the people living in the Oxnard Dunes Subdivision. The first deposition had 36 attorneys present at the deposition. We love court reporting. There is no finer job. And we are proud to still be here.

Our office has conference rooms and we offer locations for depositions in other areas as well. We are medical and technical specialists providing computerized transcripts for your case. We offer language interpreters and videographers. We also transcribe testimony from CDs and tapes. We offer condensed transcripts on all jobs and we are here to serve you.
