Gus Olson Hall
Olson Hall, located on the campus of the University of California, Davis, is a two-story grey building that houses classrooms, computer labs, and a language lab. Built in 1963, it is a popular spot for humanities majors and Linguistics students, as well as those taking the University Writing Program. The building underwent a remodel in 2000, adding features such as plastic chairs and carpeting to the classrooms. Notably, Olson Hall lacks fire suppression systems like sprinklers.
Conveniently situated between Shields Library and Sproul Hall, Olson Hall also offers amenities such as vending machines and a microwave in the basement. The campus television studio used to be housed on the second floor, but has since been relocated. Additionally, the UCD Language Learning Center and a print station can be found in the basement. With its central clock, installed by the class of 1964, Olson Hall seems to be frozen in time, serving as a hub for academic pursuits on the UC Davis campus.
