COVID-19 update: I offer lessons via ZOOM or in-person (masked). Adult students must be fully vaccinated for in-person lessons. I offer personalized lessons to students of all ages (adults included!) studying guitar, drum set, ukulele, and electric bass guitar in my home studio in the Laurel District of Oakland. Styles include pop/rock, blues, folk/traditional, indie, country, classic rock, punk/metal, and classical. We learn traditional note reading/theory, tabs, chords, strumming, fingerpicking, improvisation, scales, composition/songwriting and rhythmic notation as well as how to learn songs by ear. My goal is to help each student obtain the skills to play (or compose!) the songs they love. It is a treat to watch my students become confident musicians with the ability to express themselves with passion.
