The Grocery Outlet started off in San Francisco in 1946, selling discounted food from government surplus supplies. There are many stores now - probably over 20 of them dotted around the Bay Area...

Been to Alameda so many times, but I never realized that they had a Grocery Outlet store until last weekend. Dropped in to check them out. Unfortunately, there was no time to browse the store...

I had another episode of disrespectful behavior by workers at that store last night. Simple ..they did not acknowledge the listed price when I got to cashier she did not acknowledge the listed...

Love the store and the employees! The prices have gone up (meat), which is a bit worrisome. I hope they are aware of the impact on their customers.
