The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness is a volunteer organization engaged in the social, recreational, cultural, educational and vocational well-being of deaf and hard of hearing constituents. Established in 1969, the agency conducts training sessions for the development of independent living skills. The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness also provides peer counseling and job placement and employment search services. The agency is also engaged in the advocacy and dissemination of information regarding deafness for parents, professionals and consumers. The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness offers housing opportunities for low-income senior citizens. The agency provides teen pregnancy prevention services.
