Designated one of the top ten vintage theaters in the United States, the Grand Lake Theatre is an Oakland gem that features blockbuster and sleeper hits alike. Opened in 1927, the art deco movie house offers four modest-sized auditoriums, each ornately designed in various themes. The Grand Lake keeps its prices reasonable, even on the weekends, when guests can take in a performance from the Mighty Wurlitzer before a show. Stop in midweek for half-price films and free popcorn Wednesday.
