The procedure will be discussed step-by-step and any questions or concerns will be answered then as well. The day of the treatment, a physical exam will be completed. Before the anesthetic is given, you will be able to play with the plastic mask until you are comfortable. After 5 to 10 seconds of breathing in the gases, you will become unconscious. Toys and lights are used as distraction until this happens. Then an IV line and nasal ETT will be placed. Your carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, anesthetic concentration, blood pressure, heart rate, anesthetic depth, and blood oxygen saturation will all be closely monitored. You or your child will wake up about 5 to 10 minutes after the procedure. You will then be ready to go home after about 20 minutes. Dr. and Mrs. Lee have been married for over 11 years.
