Golden Valley High School

Golden Valley High School, located in Merced, Calif., is one of the schools in the Merced Union High School District. Established in 1994, it offers classes from grades nine through 12 and enrolls more than 2,000 students. The school provides a comprehensive educational program with courses based upon state and local graduation requirements. Courses include core subjects, such as mathematics, language arts, social studies and science. In addition to the core subjects, students have the opportunity to take courses in Spanish, visual arts, drama, physical education, family science and business education. The school also provides career counseling. All students are invited to take part in the school newspaper and student council. Golden Valley High School offers a variety of sports, including football, basketball, track and volleyball.
