History
Started by a group of professional opera singers, directors and designers working together, the company was formed. Golden Gate Opera has provided Outreach OPERA-tunities for more than 100,000 school children since 1997, and staged productions in the theatre. GGO has presented at Marin Civic Center Showcase Theatre, Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium, Dominican University Angelico Hall, Mill Valley Community Center and more.

Golden Gate Opera provides live opera performances in Marin County theatres, opera in schools, senior communities, at festivals, and opera in unusual places. We enrich adults with Aria Parties in the comfort of private homes, where you can enjoy opera singers up close and personal. Ordinarily I am not an opera fan, unless there are super titles. Friday night I attended Golden Gate's performance of Hansel and Gretel and it was a treat. Most of the children in the audience...
