Gloriette-R1 is a contemporary installation designed by Andrew Kovacs, celebrating the centennial anniversaries of the iconic HOLLYWOOD Sign and the historic Hollywoodland neighborhood. Crafted from repurposed materials, the structure pays tribute to the original Hollywoodland Sign while drawing inspiration from the whimsical architecture of early homes in the area.

This modern American folly reflects the rich history and future of both landmarks, exploring the interplay between a global symbol and the charming residences below. The installation, which takes its name from 12th-century French garden sculptures, is positioned at the entrance to Griffith Park, embodying the essence of single-family zoning in housing-scarce Los Angeles.
