The South Santa Clara Valley Memorial District (SSCVMD) is an independent special district established in 1946 to honor and support veterans in Gilroy and the South Santa Clara Valley. They provide a welcoming space at the Gilroy Veterans Memorial Hall for residents, veterans, non-profit organizations, and the general public to gather and host various community events.
With a commitment to recognizing and serving veterans, the SSCVMD offers resources, organizes parades, art exhibits, and fitness competitions, and maintains a virtual wall and murals to commemorate Gilroy's fallen heroes. Led by Executive Director Christine West, the district aims to create a sense of community and gratitude for the sacrifices made by veterans.
