Garfield Charter Elementary School

Garfield Charter School offers educational programs to more than 750 students in preschool through grade eight. It is located in Menlo Park, Calif. The Garfield Early Learning Center is its on-campus preschool service that offers care and academic program for 3- to 5-year old students. It offers a bilingual early literacy curriculum that includes preliteracy and oral language development, phonemic awareness and beginning sound recognition lessons in English and Spanish. Its curriculum for students in grades kindergarten through eight includes reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, English, mathematics, science, social studies, computer application, technology and foreign language. In addition, the school offers Spanish English biliteracy program, literacy collaborative program, extended math block, character education and professional development classes. It provides several extracurricular activities including music, bands, clubs, carnivals, proms and homecoming preparations. Garfield Charter School organizes field trips, seminars, conferences and assemblies for the growth and development of students.
